About Us

St. Vincent’s Family Project (SVFP) is a registered Christian, Vincentian charity that has been supporting young families and children in central London since 1976.

OUR STORY

St. Vincent's Family Project aims to support young families and children especially where there are difficulties.

We aim to be sensitive to the needs of children and also provide resources for parents to build resilient families. It works primarily amongst vulnerable families who are experiencing deprivation and the wider effects of poverty. We offer an experience of community which inspires, supports and facilitates positive change in the lives of those who use its services. The Project has a values-based Christian ethos whilst working within a hyper-diverse, multi-cultural urban setting. We offer services without charge, that are open to everyone and are targeted within their focus; that of building stronger and more resilient families, improving the mental health of children and providing volunteer opportunities for those wanting to serve others in need.

OUR MISSION

St. Vincent’s Family Project team is made up of dedicated paid staff, Board Members, volunteers and Student Interns who serve the local populace through a Vincentian ethos based on respect, inspiration, humility, professionalism, responsiveness and compassion

The charity’s Director is a Christian and the staff, Trustees, volunteers and Student Interns are supportive of the Vincentian ethos, which has its roots in the Roman Catholic faith. The charity is non-proselytizing, and its supporters are of all faiths, and none. The project is based at Methodist Central Hall, and the Board is made up of Trustees from the Daughters of Charity, Methodist Central Hall and others who are sympathetic with SVFP’s values-based approach.
